In the MEGR 3090 course, students at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte work together with counterparts from the Carl Benz Schule in Gaggenau, Germany, to explore concepts related to engineering design.
Through this collaboration, we not only enhance our understanding of engineering principles but also gain insights into diverse cultures and their unique approaches to engineering. It is truly enlightening to observe how individuals from various locations tackle similar problems and ideas.
My aspiration in this course is to refine my problem-solving approach and enhance my skills in addressing engineering challenges.
Final Project- Initial Thoughts
My initial project concept involves developing a drone that utilizes a combination of electronics, mechanics, and software.
Given my background in robotics, creating a drone follows a similar conceptual framework, with the key distinction being the transition from a wheeled vehicle to an airborne one.
I plan to explore the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) control into the drone's functionality. This feature would enable users to manipulate the drone remotely via the internet, using either a computer or a mobile device. The flexibility of such control would allow for operation across multiple devices, irrespective of the drone's physical location, and facilitate the involvement of multiple users in steering the drone.
As a potential bonus feature, contingent upon the complexity of the project, I aim to implement an autonomous aspect. This would empower the drone to navigate and fly independently without human intervention.
